Smith joins Media Works

Chris Smith

Chris Smith has joined Media Works Ltd. as executive vice president to lead the digital department and round out the agency’s media and communications capabilities. Smith’s expertise in online marketing will enhance the agency’s full suite of services, which includes developing fully integrated media campaigns comprising of strategic planning and analysis, print, out-of-home, social media, broadcast, mobile and sports marketing, among others.

Media Works established digital department and the hiring of Smith is part of the firm’s strategy to advance its non-traditional media capabilities in order to better counsel clients in all aspects of online marketing. The digital campaign and marketing services provided by Media Works include media planning and buying, SEM, management of social media marketing, and mobile technologies.

In addition to heading the digital department, Smith will be responsible for the development of new clients and project opportunities, as well as recruitment and development of digital staff.

With over 13 years of experience as a multi-channel marketer with an emphasis in the growing digital marketing field, Smith comes to Media Works from GKV where he spent over five years leading digital campaigns for the interactive department as a Senior Vice President, Management Supervisor. Smith worked on projects for the Maryland Lottery, Johns Hopkins International, Werner Ladder, St. Joseph Aspirin, and Baltimore County Golf, among others.

Smith earned a bachelors degree in English literature and mass communication from Towson University. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at University of Baltimore. Smith resides in Towson with his wife and two children.
